Sponsored by KRIEDER AND SON Dedication We, the senior class of 1959, the last graduating class in this building, dedicate the PANTHER to thisschool in which many friends were made, achievements won, disappointments suffered ( but wisdom gained), and knowledge acquired. All these have made Lodge Pole High School a very special building. It would be hard to forget the crowded halls, the hours wasted during study hall, the assemblies, the excitement of a close game, cramming for tests, the discussions in class, the mad scramble for the door. For the last 23 years many students have passed through these doors into the world, and we feel privileged to be one of these classes and also the last in this building. We hope that the future graduating classes will continue to have these wonderful memories. Sponsored by the LODGEPOLE LIONS CLUB Board of Education E. K. YARNEY President L. BOND D. HYDE Treasurer B. BANK Sidney Class Mis tory On September 2, 1947, fourteen little bright-eyed youngsters were aroused from their deep sleep to begin their Mission of Wisdom. Those entering the first grade were: Barton Bonegard, Judy Meyer, Jane Meyer, Kelly Quinn, Richard Teague, Karen Wise, Beverly Bonn, Henry Bruns, Patsy Treblik, Shirley Sherick, and Amy Loomis. Janet Sherman, Dale Lewis, Carolyn Vance, and Richard Gulley joined us during our first year. As the years rolled on we gained these new classmates: Carolynn Einemann, Dale Mika, Danny Parle, Johnny Barnhart, Alana Beck, Betty Jo Zimmerman, Maryiund Bills, Calvin Cutright, Arlene Luxa, and Kathryn Disney. During this same time, Calvin, Kathryn, Alana, Johnny, Danny, Betty Jo, Carolynn, and Dale left our class leaving a total of ten members to graduate from the eighth grade. Finally the exciting day arrived I! 1 Our first day of high school began with these new members: Carolynn Einemann, Ronald Tremain, Sharrol Fritz, Carole Yeager, Eugene Boehmer, Lamont Flessner, Robert Horst, Gary Thompson, and Karolyn Bristol, making a total of twenty-one Freshmen. In our Sophomore year we gained Kenny Ragsdale. The title of our Sophomore one-act play was, RUFFLES AND ROLLER SKATES. During the year we had two class parties. On the last one, which was an ice skating party, Carole Yeager fell and got a black eye. At the beginning of our Junior year, Kenny, Sheryl, and Karolyn failed to return. We presented a three-act play, entitled, A LITTLE HONEY.” The theme of the Junior-Senior Prom we gave was UNDERWATER. The high lights of our Senior year were our Senior class play, sneak day, and graduation. Looking back over the past twelve years, it seems to be a long time; however, it was filled with so many pleasant experiences and wonderful friendships that we will remember for many years. Sponsored by MILLER IMPLEMENT and GEHRIG and SON Sidney, Nebraska Class Prophecy May 19, 1969 Lodgepole, Nebr. Dear Mr. Mason, Well, here it is graduation time again. It doesn't seem possible that it has been ten years since you've taught us, does it? I thought I'd write and tell you what all the seniors of '59 are doing now. JACK CRABB fights in the Golden Gloves now and is title holder in the flyweight division. His wife is a champion lady wrestler. PATSY TREBLIK attended college and took up gardening. She now waters all the plants in the White House for Mrs. Eisenhower. In her spare time she studies bed bugs and cockroaches for a book she is writing called, Humans Versus Insects. EUGENE BOEHMER married Joyce after she graduated and they now live in Lodgepole. Eugene is sheriff for Cheyenne County. They have two children, twins, named Gene and Joyce. JANY MEYER is teaching auto driving in Lodgepole High School and is soon to be made principal. She also runs a baby sitting agency. KELLY QUINN runs a Chevy garage in the desert and overhauls road-runners. CAROLYNN EINEMANN married a rancher from Argentina who's a multimillionaire. She works as his secretary when she isn't busy taking care of her three sons, Hewey, Dewey, and Louie. HENRY BRUNS went to Hollywood, grew a ducktail and started playing a guitar. Right now he is busy fighting off girls. JUDY MEYER is married and has nine sons. She coaches her own baseball team. They have been Lodgepole Valley Champs for the last three years. LAMONT FLESSNER attended the University of Nebraska and was chosen cheerleader all 4 years. He was elected Mr. Cheerleader of 1962 and now conducts a cheerleading clinic at Colorado Womens College. BARTON BONDEGARD coaches the football, basketball and track at Sund and in his spare time he teaches the Physical Ed. girls to twirl the hula hoop. MARYLUND BILLS is a movie star now. Lund (her movie name) won an oscar for her performance in Lassie Comes Home co-starring Lassie and Rin-Tin-Tin. BEVERLY BORM teaches judo to the Air Force boys at the new Air Force Academy which Dennis attends. KAREN WISE races sports cars in the soap box derby and broke her record when she went 200 miles an hour BOB HORST became a minister and has his own church in Northern Alaska. He also teaches swimming and has his own underwater show. RONNIE TREMAIN is the new janitor of LPHS. He is married and is teaching his three little Tremains the art of janitor work. CAROLE YEAGER attended college in New Mexico and while she was there she became a matador. She is the only lady matador who will take on a full grown cow. RICHIE TEAGUE joined the Navy and is commander of his own ship Old Rubber Sides. During his leaves he goes to Australia to hunt kangaroo. GARY THOMPSON now plays basketball at Kansas State with Wilt the Stilt. He is now president of the Midget Club. I attended College and became a veterinarian.
