The names recorded in the enrollment book were: Norma Ammerman, Betty Killgore, Delilah Kintz, Lois Marek, Karen Miller, Keith Pierce, Richard Vos-ika, and Harold Whitefoot. Mary Jo Teague joined us in the second semester. By our third year we had as new pupils --Earl Pace, Berniece Moeller, Mary Ann Spires, Sharon Moist, Margie Anderson, Roland Wright, Roger Thompson, Albert Fraass, and Barbara Dorn. During our fourth grade year we lost Berniece Moeller, Mary Ann Spires, Sharon Moist, and Margie Anderson. But to make up for it, Peggy Hillman and Clayton Way joined us. Jim Rogers and Betty Omel joined us in the fifth grade and Barbara Dorn left. Two new members in the sixth grade were Robert Anderson and Jerry Howerter. Robert Anderson left again in the seventh grade and Earl Pacd dropped out. George Hart and Sharrol Talich came in to take their places. Ray Smith was a member of our class for a short while during the eighth grade. Then came the day we had been waiting for! On that day of September, of 1951, 23 teen-age boys and girls with smiling faces and hair combed, beamed at their High School teachers, trying to look more intelligent than they really were. The new members for that year were: Pat Forell, Norman Hoppmann, Faith Schmid, Dennis Thompson, Kenneth Onken, Glen Henzl, and Bill McKellips who left before the year was over. Ann McCarter started the Sophomore year with us but she dropped out at the end of six weeks. Betty Killgore moved at the end of the year. Our Junior year found us deep in plans for the Junior-Senior banquet and our class play, Let's Face It . We also gained Larry Brand. The fall of '54 rolled around and the Seniors tripped lightly up the stairs, eager for their last year of high school. The 22 answering roll call were: Norma Ammerman, Larry Brand, Pat Forell, Albert Fraass, Glen Henzl, Peggy Hillman, Norman Hoppmann, Jerry Howerter, Delilah Kintz, Lois Marek, Karen Miller, Betty Omel, Kenneth Onken, Keith Pierce, Jim Rogers, Faith Schmid, Sharrol Talich, Mary Jo Teague, Dennis Thompson, Richard Vosika, Clayton Way, and Harold Whitefoot. From 1943 to 1955 seems like a long time to a small girl or boy but looking backward from 1955 to 1943, time seems very short for 12 years of happy school life. With a sigh each of us look back upon those memories so dear to us. (Plate. Poem The class of 55 is leaving Lodge Pole High, We wrote this little rhyme, before we say good-by. Mr. Flower, first of all, his praise we now sing, He has helped us all through English, Sneakday - everything. Norma, our cheer leader this year, Of losing Kenny O. she has no fear. Next in line comes our Larry Brand, And all the Seniors think he is just grand. Pat is class president as you can guess, She is a friend of everyone in L.P.H.S. Albert is the boy who is full of fun. He always has a smile for everyone. Glen, our clown, is quite a guy, But with the girls he is pretty shy. Of our class, Norman is the spunky lad, To tease his classmates would make him quite glad. Peggy is full of pep and lots of fun. Important to her is being a pal to everyone. Jerry, the brain of our class is he, An Air Force Cadet he would like to be. Delilah Kintz, known as Dee for years, Is liked by everyone and knows no fears. Lois, our classmate, is quite the lass. She should graduate highest in the class. Karen will laugh and joke with everyone, And talk about everything under the sun. Next comes Betty, who is quite a pest. But she is always willing to do her very best. While working on the farm Kenny seems to have fun. But any highway cop he will try to out run. Keith is the oldest of the Senior Class, He is still looking for his one and only lass. Now we introduce to you a classmate very true, Jim Rogers, whose courage is bound to pull him through. Everyone knows that Faith is the cutest lass. She also is Duane’s favorite of the class. Sharrol is the girl who is a lot of fun. She takes life as it may come. As Pep Club President Mary Jo fits just right. She does her best for the old Blue and White. In sports Dennie is mighty grand, He is always ready to lend a helping hand. Richard is a handsome boy. His great strength is his pride and joy. Clayton comes to school his studies to pursue. Without him in our class, we just couldn't do. Harold is an athlete with red hair, When he goes to the country we know where. You've listened to our poem, our future is unfurled, We want to wish the rest of you the best luck in the world. SENIOR CLASS SONG TUNE: A Perfect Day by Carrie Jacobs-Bond Now we've come to the end of our high school days, We think of the days gone by And the joy, sorrow, and happiness We've had at Lodge Pole High. When the shadows have lengthened and vanished at last In the glow of the slow dying day. We will wish we were back at Lodge Pole High And back with our friends so dear. Well, this is the end of our high school days, And we bid farewell to you. But it leaves a dream that is good and true With memories that will never die. We've had lots of fun and hard work we’ve done With the help of our teachers true. So we thank all of you right heartily And a thanks to our parents too. As the smoke fades away I see the halls of Lodge Pole School. Residing there as Superintendent of Schools is Lois Marek. When the picture fades I see a giant curtain coming into view. As the curtain parts 1 see seated at the concert grand piano, Karen Miller. She is said to be the first Lady Liberace. The picture is clouding up, it looks like vapor trails from a jet bomber, and that is exactly what it is. It's Jerry Howerter in his B-52 Strato Jet. Suddenly I see an extremely large herd of cattle grazing on the vast plains. Nearby is a signboard saying, Lazy-H Ranch , owned and operated by Norman Hoppmann. Our view is suddenly obstructed by a large cloud of dust. It looks like some millionaire wheat farmer is working in his field. Yes, it is Glen Henzll What's that which just zoomed past us? It looks like a racing car trying to out do the world's record. To tell the truth it is none other than Sharrol Talich. Now that she has driven away, I wonder what I will see next? I didn't have long to wait before I see a big transport with Pierce Trucking Co. written on the side, coming into view. It looks as if Keith has become the head of a large trucking company. As the truck drives up to an elevator I see seated behind the desk, the General Manager, none other than Clayton Way. It looks like he has made good by running the Farmers' Elevator. Then I look across the street, I see a large sign saying Onken's Radio and T.V. Repair with branch offices in half a dozen towns. It looks like Kenneth and Norma are making a pretty good living for themselves. Norma is also writing articles for Better Homes and Gardens . Those T.V. sets don't help my reception any, and it has grown so cloudy that I can hardly make out a school house in California. Surrounded by little boys and girls is Pat Forell, a very good friend of ours. My crystal ball is clearing up very rapidly now. It looks like one of those wrestling matches. Look who has just been announced as the winner, none other than Richard Vosika! What's that I hear? It’s Mary Jo Teague and Betty Ruth Omel pluggin' away at a typewriter after hours. They are employed by the government on a big secret deal in Washington, D.C. Next in my crystal ball I see a big battle ship. On the bridge is the Admiral and Vice-Admiral, Jim Rogers and Larry Brand. They are aboard the U.S.S. Lodge Pole. Among the dazzling lights of New York, I see a sign which reads, Delilah Kintz’s Modeling Agency.” We will have to look into thisl Now the scene changes to the courthouse of Chappell. We see seated behind the mayor's desk. Faith Schmid. By the way she was married soon after graduation and with Duane's help as County Commissioner she got the office. Now I am back in Lodge Pole. As I look down the street I see an ultra modern drive-inn. I wonder who the proprietor is? Oh, yes, Harold Whitefoot. By the way, he is happily married now. I don't think I need to tell you who the lucky girl is. My crystal ball seems to be getting fainter all the time. Now I see a big hospital and briskly walking into the entrance is a registered nurse. I recognize her to be our classmate, Peggy Hillman. Now, If I'm careful, I can catch the late news broadcast. Listen! It's the final report of the Olympic Games in Finland. America, with Dennis Thompson and Albert Fraass as coaches of the women’s basketball team, just walked away with the women's basketball championship of the world. 7Vi(l We, the senior class in 1955, being sound in mind and body do hereby proclaim this to be our last will and testament.
