On September +, 19 2, fifteen little bright-eyed youngsters started their education with Mrs. Jerry Lydiatt as their teacher. Those youngsters were: Bob Ammerman, Jane Brown, Dick Brown, Clara Mae Hill, Jim Reichert, Larry Rentz, Jim Rogers, Robert Wayne Rufenacht, Ronald Stallings, and Nancy Wise. During our second year Ronald Stallings, Robert Rufenacht, Junior Reichert, Billy Powell, Rex Miller, Lois Meyer, and Clara Mae Hill, all left our class leaving us eight students in the second grade. Through the eight long years in the grades a few other pupils joined our class. Some dropped by the wayside, while others moved to new locations. It was in the fall of 1950 that the big day arrived, the entrance of the Class of into the life of the High School. On that day of September L-, 1950, twenty-four teenage boys and girls with shining faces beamed at their High School teachers. Those answering roll besides our elementary stand-bys were: Janice Bartling, Marvin and Merlin Boehmer, Virginia Bond, Sharol Brown, Anna Mae Crabb, Ronald Crabb, Dixie Dykman, Roberta Franzen, Marvin Hokom, Gene Thompson, and Dorothy Brown. As our second year of High School came, we lost two of our classmates: Jerry Helfrich went to the St. Pats Academy, and Dorothy Brown went to Brule. It was this year we waited for the day that the upper classmen were going to initiate us. The theme they chose was Sports » we will remember this day as a lot of fun. Our Junior year found us deep in plans for the class play and Junior-Senior Banquet. Dike all other classes, we had our share of heartaches and disappointments. When the fall of 1953 rolled around, and the Seniors tripped lightly up the stairs to the assembly, glad that this, their last year in Lodgepole High, was soon going to end. Those answering roll call for their last year were: Bob Ammerman, Janice Bartling, Marvin and Merlin Boehmer, Virginia Bond. Dick and Jane Brown, Sharol Brown, Anna Mae Crabb, Ronald Crabb, Dixie Dykman, Roberta Franzen, Duane Hembloom, Marvin Hokom, Ruby Jessen, Ruthann Meyer, Marie Phelps, Jim Markel, Larry Rentz, Ronald Rogers, Gene Thompson, and Nancy Wise. This last year has been an exciting and happy year for all of us. We took a sneak during November to Denver, Colorado, we edited the PANTHER HILITE, and published our annual the PANTHER. We presented a class play, which we enjoyed putting on. From 19L-2-195L- seems to be a long, long time to any boy or girl; but looking backward from 195l+-19l+2, time seems to short for twelve years of happy school life. With a sigh each of us look upon those memories that are cherished by each one of us.
