FOREWORD I 960 When was the last time you used a telephone? More than likely it was just a short time ago, for in daily life we use the telephone for a variety of reasons - gleaning information, sharing experiences, or just talking for the fun of it. The nucleus of our lives is the small, but indispensable, telephone, around which a majority of our daily activities are centered. The telephone company is always making improve- ments and striving toward greater goals. For instance, do you remember when we were without dial phones? Yes, it was a short time ago, but today we in Lock- port enjoy the advantages of dialing. In addition we proudly possess an exchange name of our own. Now we can realize the benefits known only to possessors of dial phones. As in every other locality of the world, we at Lock- port, converse about many topics. However, we talk most proudly about our school and all of the things which make it one of the best schools, not only scholastically, but socially, as well. Now we have a phone call of ultimate importance to make. So letas dial that magical number, which will connect us with all the peope, events, and activ- ities at LTHS. When that party answers, we'1l find that Lockport's really something to talk about. In fact, itis the Talk of the Town . . .

He also believed that a man should have a hobby en- tirely different from his regular job. True to his principles, Mr. Wlhite spent many enjoy- able Hoff the jobl' hours working on his farm in Sturgis, Michigan, on Big Fish Lake, In his years at Lockport, not only his stu- dents, but also many other students who knew Paul Wlhite grew to respect and admire him.
