The first gg semester is devoted to graphic art, and the second dqby' semester is devoted to painting. 6605 In the crafts classes students can create countless objects from 4,0 leather, copper, soap, wood, and modeling clay. A crafts student 59' may also build model airplanes, boats, and cars if he wishes. P, C50 If, during the year, an art or crafts student creates something unusually artistic or interesting, he may enter it in the Scholastic Art Award Contest, which starts February Igth and ends March 5th.

The main purpose of the Junior Statesmen is a to promote better citizenship and more understand- ing between high school students and their govern- ment. This year the Junior Statesmen attended a leadership conference held at St. Francis Hotel in at San Jose. They also attended the Junior Statesmen convention in Fresno during May.
