SERVIC . Cl .U B 'lxhe Service Cluh is a newly formed organization whose purpose is to encourage and support ini- tiative among the Student Body hlemhers who wish to he of service to the school and community. The memhership of the club consists of representatives from all the organizations and each of the four classes. Ir urges students to think for themselves ahout the solutions of problems which arise at school, and it aids them in making decisions and taking action. It particularly stresses the importance of student or- ganization and participation in school activities. It is the hope of the Service Club that its inliuence will carry over into the students' later lives the idea of service to others and will aid them in making good and proper decisions. ln addition to the influence that the Service Club hopes to exert on our fu- ture lives, it has the immediate value of heing a leader in charity work for our school and community. lVir, Power, adviser Edith Ann Downey, president Members: First Row: J. Dorothy Asher, president Miss Gale, adviser GIRLS' LEAGUE All girls of the school are memhers of this organization whose purpose is to estahlish a feeling of friendship and cooperation among the girls at school hy developing good sportsmanship, providing for recreation, and performing charitahle activities. The first hig event of the school year was the installation of officers at the Big-Little Sister Party. This was followed hy the sponsoring of dances, the proceeds of which were used to huv hahv garments for the Baby Clothing Drive. Another project which was hegun in December and continued through the year was the help given to needy families in surrounding communities. 'lille girls' annual Hi-.links program was held this year preceding the haslcethall game with Klan- teca and consisted of two hours of sports, a dinner, a program in the cafeteria, and the game. Linder the supervision of Bliss Gale, hlrs. hiorrison, and lliss Slack, the Blossom Formal and the Mothers' Tea were the climax of a very successful year for the Girls' League.
