s v l 1 JOURNALISM The Journalism Class group which publishes 'rhe Sandpiper was composed of members from all four classes This year. One of The main evenls was a Trip lo The Publicalions Conference, held in Modeslo during The Tirsl semesler, where The or- ganizalion of newspapers and of The school annual were discussed. One of lhe fealures of The conference was a 'rrip lhrough 'rhe Modeslo Bee. La+er in 'rhe semesler Mr. Adams, edilor ol The Livingslon Chronicle, was hosl lo 'rhe group on a four of his prinling press. This paper allhough guided by Miss Randol and Miss McMurry was run by The sludenls Themselves. The paper, published Twice a monlh, included nol only aclivilies of The school bul' original slories, poems, and essays. During The year There were fourleen papers published. lnslead of forming a Press Club, lhe group organized Themselves info a newspaper class, having an edilor and slalf. A fee of 25 cenls per year or I5 cenls per semesler was charged for 'rho paper. The Journalism Class was also in charge of The High School Noles in lhe Livingslon Chronicle. Carbon copies of The noles were senl lo The Alwaler Signal and anofher carbon copy was senl lo Mrs. Cassell who rewrole Them and senl Them 'ro Turlock and Sloclclon papers.
