GGLFERS TEE UP The Lancer golf team anticipates one of its finest seasons ever this year. The Lancers compiled a 12-2 record last year and coach Blari Krimmel expects another winning season against the stiff competition of the Iron Hills Conference. Senior co-captains Jeff Kridel and Doug Davis will lead this ye'ar's squad. Jeff, a three year starter, served as the backbone of the team last year, while Doug played a major role in some key Lancer victories. Returning to their start- ing positions, sophomores Adam Shapiro and Stuart Greenberg will once again strengthen the team with their constant play. Senior Dave Greenberg and ju- nior Fred Longo complete the squad, and will cer- tainly reinforce the team with their accuracy from tee to green. Challenging matches with West Essex, Morris Knolls, and Parsippany Hills await the Lanc- ers, yet they hope to stand up to this task and bring home the conference crown. Captain Jeff Kridel will turn in many outstanding scores to key the Lancers. Senior captain Doug Davis will lead the 1980 golfers. Senior David Greenberg's talent will result in a victorious season for the team.

IGH EXPECTATIGNS FCJR GIRLS TRACK Sue Brower flies by a Millburn runner. Coach Berry expects big things from the 1980 girl's track team. This will be the girl's third season and the first season where everything will be mea- sured metrically. Coach Berry has high hopes for his seniors: hurdier Carol Bender, one and two miler Terry Levine, high jumper Cathy Mondello, shot put- ter Nancy Cushman, and 440 and 880 runner Sue Brower. The biggest asset will be senior Kathy McNally who will run the 880, mile, and mile relay. Last year she qualified for the North Jersey Section 2 Group IV Championship and she is certain to quali- fy again this year. The underclassmen should also add depth to the squad. Versatile junior Barb lmgrund will compete in the javelin, high jump and long jump events. Other valuable juniors will be Bonnie Sheidelman, Eileen Larney, Lisa Horowitz, Mary Jo McHugh, and Jean- nie Dougherty. Sophomore Michelle James should also prove to be an asset. The depth of the under- classmen combined with the experience of the sen- iors should make the 1980 season a successful one. ' ' ' , . ff 3' '. - ' 1, ' ' lj Terry Levine in the lead. unit-- .-., . I GIRLS VOLLEYBALL BEGINS FIRST SEASON I wi A 1980 will be the first year Livingston High School will have a girls' volleyball team. The squad will be coached by Miss Alice Caskey who is chairperson of the New Jersey Top Ten Volleyball Committee. Coach Caskey says the team is working hard and shows a lot of potential. The Lancer girls will make up one of four new teams in the spring volleyball season. Senior players include Elena Vidal, Lyn Gir- one, Kim McDermott, Jenise Geannakakes and Leah Finkel. Coach Caskey expects juniors Mary Jo McHugh and Shari Berke will be great assets to the team: the coach also anticipates a strong showing from Mary Beth Picini, Beth Cacossa and Trish Bilby. The team's main emphasis will be on defense. Miss Caskey feels if the team can receive and serve well, they will be able to force errors or cause the opposition to make offensive mistakes. With this strategy, Coach Caskey believes the girls will do very well and possibly achieve a state ranking in volleyball. 1 - -, 'U , .J .
