Allhough They don'T have a Coach oT Their own Coach SmiTh has clone a very good iob oT coaching Them along wiTh The VarsiTy. They have a regular schedule OT Their own. The Junior VarsiTy is Tor The convenience oT The younger boys who are unable To make The VarsiTy. IT gives Them more Training and a chance To give Them more experience in playing. These are The boys ThaT will malce up The VarsiTy in The coming years.

The boys which included moslly lreshmen and sophomores were very green al lhe sporl during lhe lirsl ol lhe season, bul as lhe-ir experience grew lhey became accuslomed lo lhe gridiron. Only one league game was losl, so lhe enlire learn had a very successlul year. ln lhe lulure Live Oak will have a much beller loolball leam because lhe J. V. will give more boys lhe chance lo parlicipale in lhis sporl. lvir. Heilmann was lhe coach, and il is anlicipaled lhal in lhe years lo come lhe .lunior Varsily loolball leam will be conlinued, Fred A. Gardner, senior advisor, was coach ol lhe I949 lennis leam. This being only lhe second year lhal Live Oak has had a lennis leam, il is already becoming one ol lhe main sporls, Tennis lakes lhe lewesl players ol any sporls in high school. This gives only aboul live or six sludenls a chance lo play in lhis sporl. Only a lew ol lhe schools in lhis league have lennis leams, il is hoped lhal in lhe lulure all ol lhe schools will parlicipale in lhis sporl lo make il more exciling.
