The Lions led M. B. A. I4-IZ until the closing nitnutes of the game only to lose by a score of I8-14. Next canie our game with Hillsboro and along with it the muddy season. Both teams were held scoreless until the last quarter when Iohnny Hite intercepted a pass and waded 35 yards through I'irst row: I. Garrett, B. Bryant, C. Barnett, C. Corley, B. Iones, Capt. I. In the last game of the season the Lions met Lebanon and our boys rolled up a 21-U victory to Complete the 1943 schedule. Iohnny Hite was Litton's standout for the entire season. He was voted the city's outstanding player for l943-44 and also allfcity fullback. Billy Brent, Litton's high-powered defensive man, was chosen as center on the All-City second tearn.
