The Delia Tau Phi Chapler of lhe Nafional Honor Socie+y increased Hs membership by fhe addilion of no less lhan lwenfy Juniors on i+s roll and prospecls of more members from fhis versalile class in fhe oifing. Sue Daniels and Evelyn Buchanan came Through wifh flying colors in lhe one-acl play presenfed in lhe Davidson Counly Infer- scholaslic Lilerary League wifh Evelyn Buch- anan winning firsf place in +he all-slar casl. Parlicipafing in ofher branches of forensic work were Johnny Lawrence, Barbara Thomas, Cecil Corley, Eleanor Claire Aflrin- son, Sue Daniels, Ann Burch, Carolyn Slerry, Mary Jane lriclr, and Palsy DuMonf. The dramalic abilily of lhe Freshmen was displayed in +he annual Sfunf Nighl wifh iheir skil, Reproducfions of Boolrs l Have Read. Came basielball season, and fhe Freshmen were well represenfed by Marlha Neese who was a valuable addifion lo lhe girls' squad. ln lhe lnlramural Tournamenf lhe Freshmen Girls were coached by Marfha, while Lloyd Pullias and Jimmy Garrefl, subs lor lhe varsify squad, coached fhe Freshman boys lo viclory.
