X gsm ' s . NA Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, is situated at the confluence of the Tagus River and the Atlantic Ocean. The coastline nearby offered us many peaceful fishing villages for relaxation. With its natural attractions and many fine hotels and restaurants, We could see why Lisbon enjoys a reputation as a popular rec- reation center for the peoples of Europe. The many parks the broad Avenida da Liberdade, and the outdoor cafes, give Lisbon a clean, open-air atmosphere. For us as seafaring men. Lisbon had a special significance. From there, 450 years ago Prince Henry the Navigator sent out the first of many great explorers who charted the oceans of the world and gave tiny Portugal an empire which extended around the world.
