5 At sea, the crew settles into the routine of watch- standing, drills, refueling, replenishment, training, and maintenance. Watches must be alert twenty-four hours a day to ensure the safety of the ship and the satisfactory accomplishment of its missions. The ship must be bat- tleready at all times. This requires training of the Gen- eral Quarters team in gunnery and missile firings, and in radar and communication exercises. Maintenance of the ship and its equipment must continue in order to ensure the ability to meet all commitments and emergencies. ai? X WV X W 41, .M s W' . Z, f wwf , is QNX 3 f , if.
