Lei! to right: Tucker. Dudley. Kingsbury, Dcimron, Frost, Couch Mackie Everyone Enjoyed Tennis WHETHER THEY WERE on the regular tennis squad or not, there were always many students out on the courts awaiting their turn to play. Before and after school and at the noon hour, there Were tennis games in progress and dozens of interested spectators cheering their favorites on. Several players obtained honor-roll passes and brushed up on their serves and returns during study periods. However, because the squad was small, L.H.S. played only three matches. Their first match was with Tolleson, which they won, the next with Buckeye, which they lost. ln the district meet, they were beaten by Buckeye, but defeated Scottsdale in girls' doubles. The tennis team had a new coach this year, Mr. Mackie, who gave them some helpful tips and thoughtful guidance. Toby Peterson and Don Libby are not in the picture.
