The boys Won eleven While dropping seven in their tough 18-game schedule. This squad Was built around such returning letter- men as Ray Stewart, Ron Craigo, and Ken Wood. These three boys carried the team's scoring burden throughout the year. The Owls got off to a good start, winning their first three encounters. However, as the season progressed, they hit a streak of bad luck and lost some of their vital games. The squad finally found themselves and ended the regular season with three straight Wins. ln the West Central District Tournament, the Qwls entered as one of the favorites, but were defeated in their first two games.

Peoria Owlets Play Well During the basketball season, the Owlets gained much experience and chaiked up a good record-nine wins and eleven losses. Most of the boys who played on the l.V.'s this year will probably be on the varsity next year. Therefore their training in good sportsmanship and the funda- mentals of basketball will make the future brighter for the 1951 blue and gold cagers. Some of the outstanding players on the squad were loe VV'oods, Richard Esquivel, and Terry Mack, who was elected captain of the team. ln the Iunior Varsity Tournament at Tolleson the Owlets got into the finals of the consolation bracket, but were defeated by a strong Buckeye Squad. Ioe Wood was chosen as captain of the all-tournament secondtearn.
