O'Nei1l, Ray, Templeton Clarmo Llpscomb Chapple Mack Wood Third row Smihn Cunningham, Snydal, Craigo, Brinker, Palmer Cooper Barks Rayner The Band Played On LITCHFIELD PARKS band room was a busy place each day during the last class period The snappy tunes of The Booster or Brazil could be heard every afternoon played by Litchtield's marching and concert band The rhythmic beat of the drums, and the blaring melody of the trumpets, along with the blending harmony ot the rest of the instru- ments, was pleasant to the ears of all iwho played and all who heard. The band, which is under the direction of Mr. Peckenham, played at all home football games besides making many other pub- lic appearances. The Litchfield High Band as it appeared in one of its many parades.

On the other hand, you might hear, Say, boy, that was a pretty good story you wrote on Friday nights game. Publishing the Desert Howl isn't a pink cloud of paradise, but neither is it strictly hard labor. The whole class worked together for two weeks at a stretch and then rejoiced to gether or cried together, depending on how the finished product turned out. The Desert Howl usually turned out very well, because it was rated First Class by the National Scholastic Press Association and generally praised by students, faculty, and parents The class sent four delegates to the annual journalism convention at Tucson, Wanda Dam ron, Bill Hardison, Beryl Koger, and La Nell Henry. Chorus ls Bigger Than Ever This Year THROUGHOUT the year, the Litchfield chorus has been very busy entertaining at the various clubs in town and participating in the annual music night, singing at the Glendale Music Festival, and rendering an excellent performance at the Christmas Pageant. An octette, composed of Woody Gaillard, Tandy Andrade, Billy Ray, Mansfield. O'Neill, Louistine Hurley, lean Cunningham, Betty Lee Dudley, and Corinne Dudley sang on special occasions.
