New Faces for Uld Offices During Student Body e- lections, students voted in official voting booths and the ballots were placed in a . .Mir N, an-WW' official ballot box. M A 'T 7 ' Signs of spring were showing up everywhere, as petitions, post- ers, campaign speeches and try- outs began. Seniors saw their school year coming to an end, but underclassmen saw the coming of new officers, pep squads, band accompaniments, and a bright year in 1973. Tryouts for the pep squad and mascots were held in the later part of May. Many girls came out and although only a few girls won the titles, the outcome of the try- outs proved there still is spirit at LHS. Tryouts for majorettes, drill team, and lettergirl's were also held. These girls were grad- ed on a point value system. Those with the highest amount of points were named to the squad. Drum Major and assistant drum major selection was left up to the band. Any band member wishing to try- out had to perform in front of the entire band. 26 Student Body Elections srQ gi .. .f .,,.,-4-1f ' ufkvpvdlrrnfgw Judi Walters gives a cry ofjoy after being named to the yell squad for 1972- 1973 year. rf'
