It is spring in America. The sky overhead is a jade blue. The sun sends its warm rays over all, and green is fast becoming nature's predominant color as the bare trees and foliage of winter leave their drabness to herald the reawakening ot lite. An insect drones on its busy way, a puppy barks, a transport plane roars above, breaking the silence tor a moment, then is gone. The zephyr-like breeze meanders through the trees, whispers with the yet new leaves, and cools the sweating worl4man's brow, lt is spring in America, yet it is not the spring ot former times. This is a spring ot blood, sweat, and tears. Ot toil and heartache, of victory and deteat. The earth is steeped in blood once more, the cannon roar, and demagogues wave their tyrannical tists in the faces of all freedom-loving men. And America is answering their challenge, as the champion ot right and humanity and as the hope of a better lite to come, For America is the embodiment ot noble ideals ot men in ages past, the wisest and most just of nations.
