-.GREEN GGLD, GREFTSE, GRHFFITI May 7-11 Marks '79 Spirit Week Mondays are usually said to be blue, but Monday, May 7 was definitely green and gold at Lindbergh. Students and teachers alike donned the school colors to mark the beginning of Spirit Week. ln the classroom, it was hard to tell who was the student and who was the teacher for the two changed places. Faculty members took seats among their pupils as students in- structed their classmates. Your Sunday Best was the proper attire for Tuesday, also known as Dress Up Day . That was also the Day of the Arts for students who were entertained by the Madrigal Sing- ers and Stage Band in the Commons during lunch periods. On Wednesday, seniors proclaimed .lf - 1. Gwen Oxendale and Ray Ochs go all out by dressing for the occasion on Friday, Grease Day. 2. Hats and T-shirts dominate all spirited people Wednesday, 3. Caught in the act, Lisa Krysal scribbles inspir- ing mementos across the walls on Graffiti Day. 4. Cafeteria staff aides don amusing hats to join in the spirit on Wednesday. It's Better in the Bahamas via T- shirts bought on spring break trips. Un- derclassmen used T-shirt Day to adver- tise their favorite pastimes, rock groups, and philosophies on their fa- vorite shirts also. No outfit was com- plete without some sort of head-gear. Many students were consistent with the '79 fads as they wore cowboy hats, but KSl-lE Pig Caps and Mickey Mouse ears were also sported by some as they complied with the Hat Day theme for Wednesday. Toes adorned with wacky socks of all designs and colors peeked out of san- dals worn by the spirit-minded on Thursday, Sock Day. An ice cream social provided a welcome break from classes during sixth hour. As a special 2:00 p.m. bell rang, students swarmed .-J I S '12 ff H .21gA.mQ5, Mit! The writing on the wall was clear on Friday as freshmen through seniors ex- pressed themselves on Graffiti Day. Pa- per covered the walls and provided writing space in Cafeteria I and the Commons. Grease, the hit movie from 1978, inspired spirited students of the 70's to imitage their predecessors of the 50's. Boys greased their hair and girls came to school with pony tails and poodle skirts. With the advent of warm weather, stu- dents looked forward to a break from the normal school routine. With this in mind, Student Council planned May 7- 11, the 1979 Spirit Week.
