The 1979 Turnabout Dance brought the theme Night Fever alive at Lindbergh on March 31 in the Commons. Passing through a silver tinsel curtain, couples had a chance to cool off in Cafeteria Ill with re- freshments provided by the pom pon squad and cheerleaders. Dimmed lights relaxed couples while they had a chance to con- verse about the dance and coro- nation. The evening came to a climax at 9:30 with the announcement of the Coronation. Emcees Matt DeWeese and Linda Endebrock in- troduced court members. The ceremony peaked when Carmella Calandro was crowned 1979 Tur- nabout King. s 91 1. Couples cleared the dance floor as the hour approached ten o'clock, In only minutes, the 1979 Turnabout King would be crowned. A silent anticipation carrie over the crowd as announcers Matt DeWeese and Linda Endebrock introduced the nobles: Warren Lipka, Dale Jordan, and Boyd Birchfield. Next, the knights: Kevin McKenna, Jeff Malone, Brian Creath, Kurt Krueger, Carmello Calandro. and Curt Meyer were announced.
