'5lXlCDWl' Llillillb Decorations Depict Dance Theme White flakes, glistening on the ground, appropriately enhanced the mood of the evening for couples attending the 1979 Snow Queen Dance. Surrounded by sparkling silver stars and a back drop glittered with snow-covered mountains, Bob Kuban's Brass sere- naded couples with slow, romantic songs, as well as the disco beat. Mean- while, more decorations, doves flying overhead, murals depicting silhouettes and a multi-colored rainbow, conveyed the dance theme, A Time for Us. While some couples danced, others took a break to try the refreshments, punch and dessert, served by the dance hosts and hostesses, Student Council members. At 9:45, all activities closed as couples and parents crowded into Gym Ill. As lights faded and tension grew, Student Council officers Chris Dahl and Dianna Jungman presided over the coronation. The final candi- date was escorted to the stage, and a hush came over the audience. The si- lence, however, was quickly broken by applause and wild cheers as Sharon Di- giovanni was crowned 1979 Snow Queen.
