Spirit Week Heads turned and eyes followed the senior, tuxedo-clad and wearing an ar- row through his head, as he casually strolled down the hall. Coins clanked into jars labelled Shave It as stu- dents hoped to see a clean-shaven Dr. Amen at the end of the week. Green and gold were everywhere for it was April 24-29, 1978, Spirit Week. On Monday, huddled around a pa- per-covered wall and scribbling furi- ously, students carried out Graffiti Day then went to a student-conducted class where teachers and selected stu- dents changed places. Spirit was evi- dent on Tuesday as green and gold were the colors of the day. Lindbergh also celebrated the week with its own version of an ice cream social at the end of sixth hour. Eyes strained to read T-shirt after T-shirt on Wednes- day. Girls in dresses and boys in suits carried out Thursday's theme to dress- up, but coordinated outfits were not be seen on Friday, Clash Day. Plaids, stripes, and flowers were purposely mixed as students also showed off their favorite head gear. An anxious student body crowded into the Commons to see the results of week-long voting. By dropping money into jars marked Save It or Shave It , students de- termined the fate of Dr. Amen's mous- tache. They saw the outcome as he entered the Commons Friday morning with razor in hand. N- Songs Supplement Scholarships Gym Two was filled with a capac- ity crowd of parents, friends, and music lovers. The night was a sell- out. Sounds of the A Cappella Choir, Symphonic Band, Mixed Choir, Stage Band, Ensembles, and Madrigal Choir warming up and tuning their instruments drifted across the room. Lindbergh musicians presented their talent and donated their time to entertain parents and help send fellow students to college. Proceeds from the evening were donated to the Lindbergh Scholarship Fund. Combining an enjoyable evening with a worthy cause, the music groups carried on a school tradition - the Night of Music.
