Spirits Soar With Homecoming Victory October sun shone on hundreds of Flyer and Pio- neer fans who filled the stands to see Lindbergh bat- tle Kirkwood. This was more than an ordinary foot- ball gameg it was October 22, 1977, Homecoming. At halftime, the Sym- phonic Band accompanied the Pom-pon girls who per- formed a military drill. Lack of student interest in constructing floats resulted in a parade of only cars and a broken school tradition. Clubs decorated cars to the Homecoming theme, Red Sails In The Sunset . Spirit Maids were then introduced to the crowds. Bursting through the Pep Club hoop, the football team ended halftime. The Lindbergh spirits and score soared as the Flyers over- whelmed the Pioneers, 34-O. Right: Varsity lettermen escort Spirit Maids at halftime.
