1971 Dedicatee: Mr. Tony Lema This year, as every year, the SPIRIT staff chose a dedicatee who they felt had contributed to Lindbergh and who had established an important relationship with the students. This year's choice, Mr. Tony Lema distinguished himself through his devotion to the stu- dents and his constant efforts to keep Lindbergh in pace with the changes around it. He was best known to the 1971 graduating class as athletic director and football and golf coach, but he had a great variety of experiences during his career at LHS. He was honored with a football scholarship to North- east Missouri State College at Kirksville and was grad- uated with a degree in mathematics. He joined the Lind- bergh staff in 1958 and taught physical education and math and was head football coach and golf coach. Three years ago he was made athletic director and 1971 was his first year as activity director. In this capacity he again demonstrated the concern and ability that prompted the SPIRIT staff to choose him as dedicatee. For his ability to confront and deal with any situation and the interest he had maintained in the students, this yearbook is dedicated to Mr. Tony Lema. Xt, Mr. Lema accepts the first copy of the 1971 SPIRIT. ,Af l l
