N-1' Because of the enthusiasm and service shown by the famed Sarge of English Ill, Mr. William Elkins, to the students and their welfare, the 1967-68 SPIRIT Staff dedicates this book. As a faculty member for ten years he has served as junior and Senior sponsor, head of the photog- raphy club, member of the Athletic Council, and Adviser to the Hangar Committee. Mr. Elkins attended Mizzou for two years then joined the Marines. Later, he earned a B.S. from Washington U. and an M.A. from Austin Peay College in Tennessee. As a tease, the ever- loyal Lindbergh booster, and go- get um coach for the faculty volley- ball team, Mr. Elkins cannot be topped All these things make Mr. William Elkins a most deserving dedi- catee. Editor-in-Chief: jill Schmiemeier Business Manager: Linda Weber Advisers: Miss Bray, Mrs. Scully It has been said that spirit is an important force in all our lives today, and this certainly is true for students of Lindbergh High School. It is then important for us as students to have a full understanding of what spirit is, what spirit does, and what spirit can do. The en- tire SPIRIT staff's objective thus is to explain meaningfully spirit as it is reflected in LI-IS students. 196 IPIRIT LINDBERGH SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL St. Louis, Missouri Volume XVII TABLE OF CONTENTS DEDICATION 2 IN RETROSPECT 4 ACADEMICS 16 ORGANIZATIONS 38 SPORTS 74 ACTIVITIES 112 CLASSES 130 SENIOR DIRECTORY 224 pQgqvI'.4 --r-.-f- ' '.'A '4 L
