The ability to look forward to future opportuni-
ties rather than backward to past mistakes is the mark
of a well-adjusted person. Most people have within
themselves the resources for dealing with their own
problems if they will but take the FORWARD
LOOK. You will succeed in the future to the extent
that you have developed high morale, the willing-
ness to work and a sense of values basic to democratic

Dr. Glen Goodwill has completed his first year as
superintendent of the Santa Monica City Schools.
Under his guidance we are looking forward to an
extensive building and improvement program. We
are grateful for his splendid cooperation in support-
ing our share, allotted from Santa Monica's proposed
310,500,000 bond issue.

DEAN OF GIRLS EMILY BROWN
Mrs. Emily Brown is Lincolns Dean of Girls
She possessing an abundance of tolerance and under
standing does an excellent job. She sees that girls
needs are fulfilled, advising them on both school and
social matters. Mrs. Brown is well liked by everyone
as she strives to uphold Lincoln's standards. We are
all proud to have her here at Lincoln. Mrs. Brown
also takes care of the schooldcalendar and sponsors
the Girls' Service Club. '

VICE PRINCIPAL ALTON BLOOM
Mr. Alton Bloom, Lincoln's vice principal, serves
also as Dean of Boys. This difficult position calls for
patience and understanding. With these qualities
Mr. Bloom has achieved success in his position. He
is friendly and gives advice to all who need it. He is
fair at all times and has gained the respect of many
a boy at Lincoln. Mr. Bloom will let nothing interfere
with his trying to solve a student's problem. He like-
wise supervises the Boys' Service Club.
