Membership is based on scholastic achievement, participation in extra- curricular activities, general character, leader- ship, and service to the school during their three years of senior high school. The purpose of the National Honor Society is to honor those students who have taken leadership and responsibilities, and to create interest of underclassmen in extra-curricular activities. Twelve boys were chosen for the Athletic Scholarship Society with Roger Tunberg, Thornton Anderson, John Powell, Bradley Hanna, Bob Melby, and Phil Beadle repeating for their second year. ln order to gain mem- bership to this coveted organization they must have a scholastic average, for three semesters, as high or higher than the school's average and must have also earned a letter in at least one major sport. srmusmvgnpdunnpqgggg
