As we near the close of our high school days we have the satisfaction of knowing that we are far better educated than we were as Freshmen. On leaving Lincoln High we are richer also in fond memories and pleasant friendships. We have had experiences these past four years that we will hold dear the rest of our lives. Looking back on our freshmen year we remember those first small achievements that were the basis for greater success in the following years. When we were sophomores Lincoln's football team was city champion and undoubtedly the big moment of our Junior year was the prom. This past year above all will long be remembered, the maroon and gold party conventions follow- ed by the election of our class officers, Dennis McFadden, President, Tom Williamson, Vice President, Dale Grinstead, Treasurer, and Sandra Froelich, Secretary: was an exciting episode. The Senior Party, our last prom, and, of course, our last big event, Commence- ment, are iust a few of the unforgettable moments that the Class of '56 will long remember. Life works out a pattern on the Tapestry of Time. The threads of hope, of love and grief, of fear and faith sublime-of happiness and bitterness, of joy and misery--and stitched into the great design of human destiny. Within so vast a frame, our tiny patch we cannot see. To close we stand to trace the pattern on the tapestry . . . But someday, looking from afar, perhaps we shall behold-Our little bit of the design, our own small thread of gold. Patience Strong Page 16 And when we think we lead we most are led. -Byron M ff
