OUR PRINCIPAL WILLIAM WOLFARTH A great asset to the faculty and students of Lincoln High School is our principal, Mr. William Wolfarth. A native Cantonian, he came to Lincoln first as a student, then as a teacher, and now as principal. He graduated from Otterbein College in 1936 with an A.B. Degree and from Duke University in 1942 with an M.A. Degree. While at Otterbein he was an active participant in all sports, was president of the student council, Pi Beta Sigma Fraternity, and the men's glee club. He was also editor of the newspaper and yearbook. In 1936 he came to Lincoln for his first iob as a teacher. He taught English and Commerce and lndustry. Besides his teaching duties, he was assistant coach, dean of boys, and in charge of publications. In 1943 he was called to serve his country. After his discharge in 1946 he came home to Canton and took a position as principal of West North School and Director of Audio-Visual Education. In 1950 he was appointed the full time Audio-Visual Director. Mr. Wolfarth came back to Lincoln in 1954. He says, Lincoln is my favorite school and it has given me a great deal of satisfaction to complete the cycle from student to principal. Thou wert my guide, philosopher and friend. -Pope Page 7
