Florence Korby. The Girls' Athletic Association, the only all girl club in our high school, was orginized fif- teen years ago, and its membership has been increasing rapidly. This year the membership is fifty. Any girl in the senior high school may join provided she earns twenty-five points by De- cember. In order to receive a G.A.A. emblem she must earn five hundred points. To receive a pin, which is awarded to her in the senior year, she must earn one thousand points. The G.A.A. participates in many activities. These include baseball, basketball, volleyball, tennis, hiking, skating and almost every outdoor sport. A G.A.A. conference is held every year and delegates from every club in the Arrowhead region are invited to attend. This is a big day for those who are privileged to attend. A variety of entertainment is available, and the girls of the different clubs get acquainted. Last year the conference was held at Cloquet, this year Coleraine is acting as hostess. The G.A.A. Variety Show has always been one of the outstanding events of the year. This year the program included both local and outside talent. This being leap year, the girls popped the question and invited the boys to a Leap Year Party which was held in the high school gym. Bunco and other games were enjoyed by those attending. Q Under the guidance of Miss Harney, our G.A.A. has proved to be a success. The officers are: President, Mary Francisco, Vice-President, Florence Korbyg Secretary, Genelle l-luffmang Treasurer, Mabel Esko. - twenty
