As the decade closes the entertainment World .. The decade of the 70's saw no great musical changes, but did see a number of innovations. In the early 70's Beatles' fans mourned the news of their breakup. The music of the mid-70's was a mixture of Hard Rock and Pop Rock, with popular groups being the Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac, the Osmonds and teenage idols like Donny Osmond and David Cassidy. Hard Rock continued to develop with other groups like Boston, the Eagles, and Kansas But a new and completely different kind of music was also emerging-DISCO. Groups like the Commodores, Donna Summer and the Bee Gees contributed to much of the success of disco music. Morever the movie SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER was the major cause of this disco fever. This movie also contributed to the popularity of the star and idol John Travolta. He is just one of the stars to pop out of the late 70's. Sylvester Stallone melted his viewers in his performance as Rocky. Henry Winkler, alias Fonzie, stole the hearts of many in his role in HAPPY DAYS. Farrah Fawcett became an everyday household word through her role in CHARLIE'S ANGELS.
