Neil Newlon: The Greening Of An Actor Hiding behind the whiskers and costume of a mid-19th century American is none oth- er than Neil Newlon, associate professor of theater. He donned the duds for a brief appearance in the TV mini-series, The Chisholms , which aired in March on CBS. Newlon por- trayed the judge of a greased pig contest at a Fourth of july picnic. It was not the first television role for the professor, migrant labor camp manager, playwright, Greenwich Village bartender, and frustrated auto restorer. Under Coach Cyndi Slayton, the Lady Lynx racked up a 23-0 regular season slate and won their opening game in the Section IV championships before falling to Belleville Area College in the title game, 71-64.
