YEARS AGO was the first major at Lincoln College. It was given in November, 1955, under the direc- tion of Mr. William Stigall. The LYNXITE regrets that they do not have room enough to picture or name the number of students who worked so hard behind the scenes. Years Ago There Was No Snack Bar The newly opened Snack Bar, which incidentally is a memorial to Jefferson Davis, is quickly becoming a stop spot between classes. The 24 inch television set is a feature attraction to stu- dents and faculty alike. I. Leone waits on S. Dehner and L. Adams while D. Doehring and C. Sank lounge. ' wr ,A ..ff-MMM Museum ofthe Presidents First permanent exhibit ever created to honor the thirty-three men who have served this country as Chief Executive, the Museum of the Presidents was unveiled during Commencement on May 29, 1955. Pictures cannot show either the beauty or the importance of the museum. Walnut paneling and special lighting do full justice to the materials in the collections. Centered in the room on a block of Vermont marble are five flags: those of The United States, the Christian Church, State of Illinois, the Confederacy and Lincoln College. Dr. Ralph Newman says This is the first time an institution has memorialized the office rather than the man. All of our Presi- dents collectively are honored at the first school named for the sixteenth president of the United States. EW FRONT ROW, Left to Right: B. Swinford, Chairman, J. Hardy, J.
