SCIENCE INTEREST IS HIGH AT L. H. S. Ligonier's aim in social studies is to make the students world -minded. Lessons in world history and economics teach students the achievements man has made through the ages and keeps them well-informed on the events of the present. Mr, Glen Longenbaugh and Mr. Jack Ribel mold us into good citizens who recognize the duties and privileges of good government. Under the able guidance of Mr. Joseph Starkey and Mr, Cecil Yoder the science department has progressed rapidly. Early emphasis is placed on health in the seventh grade and general science in the eighth. Moving on into high school the students encounter biology in their freshman year and the mysteries of plants and animal life. The sophomore review rules of health and safety while the juniors and seniors plunge into the science of motion, mat ter and energy in their physics and chemistry classes. Air Careful! Mr. Starkey, it's liable to go off!! ! Janet I-lite, Carol Harper and Mike Seniff learn fundamental procedures in chemistry. vr The lights have been turned out, and the Freshmen are about to see a film concem- ing biology.
