Lois Van Cleave Director, Student Ministries Though the academic ability of the graduate is of great concern to the administration of the College, they have not neglected the fact that our new ministers need to be well acquainted with active ministry. It is the desire of the Directors that our ministers be not only well versed in the expostion of Scripture but also that they be able to minister that knowledge - in life changing power - to the needs of the world through the riiointing of Jesus Christ. This has been the hallr ark v. this College since its beginning. What the world neerls . knowledge and power. The Special Ministry Teams provide the opportunity for students to have first hand exposure to active ministry in present day circumstances. We have two Action teams that go out frequently to surrounding churches to minister at various services. In these situations the students involved are able to employ the different means of ministry that they have learned in school. On team M were Rick and Debbie Meyer, Steve Vagasy, Dennis and Linda Frey and Nick Capalia. Team S consisted of David Parr, David Blake, Jodell Herdt, Irene Archuleta, and Tom Hassel. There also are teams that go to homes for children. Those involved had the great joy of ministering - while still in school - to churches and in areas where people really needed the love of Jesus shown to them. It is imperative for graduation that each student proves that he has been involved in some form of ministry during his education. This is a safe-guard against those who intend to learn active ministry at the expense of some innocent congregation! 67
