ful season which was climaxed by
the Homecoming Game on November
4 Etna won, but Queen Martha
Parkinson looked pretty enough

son, and Patty Rockey Evan
Smith was high point man for the
season and we were very proud of
Ralph Moore, who won a spot on
the All County first team
Other events of October were
the seniors' trip to Columbus
for picture takin , a successful
magazine drive Sue Bailey was
high salesman for the campaignj,
and the Halloween Carnival
Queen Patricia Morton reigned
over this gala evening,attended
by Jane Pound, Carol Brown, and
The 4 H Clubs,Community Club,
and F F A have all been very
active this year. The Com unity
Club sponsored many dances and
raffles to purchase the new band
uniforms which constituted their
chief project for the year. The
F.F.A. elected Ralph Moore pres
ident and held a pest hunt,wh1ch
Eugene Collins won with 2990
points. Last summer, Jacktown's
cattle judging team rated eighth
in 253 entries from all over the
The junior play,"'1'he Campbells
Are Coming," was well presented
on November 18. It was directed
by Miss King and Mr. Parker.
The basketball season ended
with our second game in the
tournament, which we lost to He-
bron. The cheerleaders this year
were Irene Seymour, Anna Lou
Brown, Martha Parkinson, and
Bette Hoskinson, who looked very
charming in their new red and

Keith Thogmartin went to Wilm
ington in March to participate
in the State Chorus Other mem
bers of the chorus attended dis
trict and county choruses
Mary Jo Hoskinson and Glen
Vince were new members on the
County Student Council Pat Mor
ton was a member again,and also
our representative onn the Lick
New members elected to the
Honor Society were seniors Lil
lian Gorley and Irene Morgan,and
junior Roy McK1bben. Senior mem-
bers elected last year were Glen
Wlnce, Donna Jean Ice, and Pat
Morton. We were very proud that

The 21 seniors concluded thdr
last year at Jacksontown, guided
by President Glen Wince and Mr.
Balo, as advisor, in the tradi-
tional manner. The senlor play,
"I Know Your Secret? was present-
ed on May 5,and the Junior Smnor
Banquet, Senior Week, Baccalaur
eate Sunday, and Com encement
night formally ended their high
school career. A lot of hard
work and many plans were under
way during the year to finance
the senior trip to New York,
Washington, and Atlantic City.
