Draft: fwd. 26 ft. 0 in., aft. 27 ft. 0 in., mean 26 ft. 6 in. Set modified material condition yoke third deck and below. Pilot, Captain Freire, came aboard. 0915 Set a modi- fied special sea, anchor and mooring detail. 0955 Pilot, Captain Duncan, came aboard. 1026 Underway under tug power for drydock No. 5 New York Naval Shipyard, Brooklyn, New York. Captain Duncan at the conn.. Captain on the bridge. 1115 S-hip en- tered the dock first line over. 1153 moored in drydock No. 5 New York Naval Shipyard, Brooklyn, New York with sixteen 7 inch and two 10 inch lines in use. H. G. ROMAINE LT USN In drizzling rain and fog the LEYTE was shepherded by tugs from her mooring pier 15, into the East River and hence to drydock No. 5 for the final phase of her de- commissioning.
