In these pages of our Lore, we have singled out one pathway in life -our school days. This period of learning and of moulding character is an important part of life. L, H. S. teaches students the worth of an education and gives them a sound foundation in various subjects. Moreover, the growth of character is emphasized. justice. integrity, and charity are taught through examples. To one whose advice has guided us, HERE MR. SHEAFFER leads a discussion of the War between the States in one of his history classes. With sincere appreciation we dedicate our Lora to Mr. Maurice C. Sheaffer, our friendly teacher and adviser. He has won the admiration of the faculty and of the students in his efforts to uphold the ideals of our school. In addition to his teaching assignment of history and social studies. he is an adviser of Student Council. After school he serves on the Curriculum Committee and the Activity Committee. Not only does he take an active part in his church, and in the welfare of young people in the community, but also he is greatly interested in music and in literature. The students of Mr. Sheaffers classes deeply appreciate his interest in them and in their prob- lems. His kind words of advice have aided many young people in making correct decisions. As a result of his efforts to help us, our high school life is made more enjoyable. The 1958 Lore pays tribute to Mr. Sheaffer for helping us along the L. H. S. Pathways of life. 3 WIITH PRIDE Mr. Sheaffer willingly takes the job of babysitting for his little granddaughter, Maureen Shealfer.
