Within our treasure chest we find student council dances, class parties, and the Iunior Prom as tokens of our social events along with our football and basketball games, our wrestling and track meets, and our soccer and baseball games. In the more serious corner of our treas- ure chest we remember our studies and grades. Then, too, We can not forget our teachers. We must thank them for their kindness, their consideration, and their loyalty to us as students exploring the fields of higher education. Four happy years have come and gone, and, literally speaking, the class of l948 has emerged upon the cross- roads - the parting of our Ways. Parting, indeed, but there is a finer and broader sense in which the class of 1948 shall never be separated, but bound more firmly by cords which can not be severed as the years go by. During the years of our high school life a meshwork has been encircling us, entwining and intertwining each and every heart-cord securely. ln this meshwork, like a treasure chest filled with so many souvenirs, are hard work, pleasure, sorrow, friendship, joy, love, and even tears, all interwoven and shared alike. Around this meshwork and from these souvenirs is the Tie which shall withstand all the storms of time. Let this tie - our beloved Alma Mater - be an encourage- ment, not only to us, but to those who shall follow us, so to live in thought and deed that our lives may indeed be Cm honor to our beloved L.
