Senior Class History By JACK HoUsER Hail to Lewistown High School! When we entered high school, we had three hundred members in our class. Before the year was over we had dwindled to two hundred and fifty. As we were fairly confident of our own abilities we started to show the Juniors and Seniors what we could do. Before a month had passed we were deflated like a blown-out tire. At our first class meeting we elected the following officers: President, Jack Houserg vice president. Marian Rickardg treasurer, Russell Stimelyg secre- tary, Helen Brannon. During our first year in high school We had several mem- bers of the class on the football and basketball teams, in the public speaking class, in dramatics, and in the various clubs such as Hi-Y and Tri-Hi-Y. We were rather well acclimated to high school life at the end of that year. Our Junior year was much more successful than our Sophomore year. We were better acquainted with the faculty and with other members of the class. This was a very busy year for us. We selected our class colors, our pennants, and our class hats. Our class colors, hats and pennant were a very attractive combination of the class colors of green, black, and white. Our officers for the year were as follows: President, Jack Houserg vice-president, Marian Rickardg treasurer, Walter Collins: secretary, Gene Deamer. Our class was well repre- sented on the undefeated football team, and also in the various other activities of the school. The Junior Prom, which was held in the new gymnasium, was a great success. At the end of the year we elected our officers for the coming year. They were as follows: President, Jack Houserg vice-president, Jane Apgarg treasurer, Robert Zieglerg secretary, Gene Deamer. Our last year in Lewistown High School has been full of success for many of us. Several members ended three and two years service on the football squad and on the varsity basketball team. Others rounded out their service in dramatics and other organizations. The climax of the senior year was the class play, Face the Music. Moving into the last part of our school life we came to our graduation activities. The Baccalaureate Service was the first of these activities. The Juniors gave us a very fine Prom and we take this opportunity to thank them for it. The Dinner Dance at Green Gables Hotel was the highlight of our social activities. For a happy ending to this story we had our Commencement Exercises in the high school auditorium. Farewell to Lewistown High School!
