English The aim of the English department is to prepare the pupil for the responsibilities of life in a democracy. We try to do this through the development of right attitudesg through the acquisition of skills used in reading, writing, and speakingg through the growth of the ability to distinguish between good and cheap writingg and finally through his explorations in literature to understand better not only his own emotional reactions but also those of people with whom he lives.
