I, Ronald Brown, will the fly specks on the gymnasium lights to the Freshman Class. I, Dorothy Dalton, will my gambling ability to Glenn Morgan. I, Herman Esqulbel, will my hair to Roger Amos. Our Prophecy The date ls now June in the year of 19665 the place ls the brand new Lewis-Palmer High, where the 1956 graduates have come for a class reunion. Some of the alumni had a hard time finding the school because Monument ls now so large fabout eight million in populatlonj and there are so many high schools lfour hundredl. Jean Salazar is the first to arrive. She managed to take a day's vacation from being a very, very private secretary. In- cldently, she is the first secretary to make a million dollars. Wanda Hazen has been married to six millionaires--one at a time, of course. Next, Ronnie Brown speeds ln, doing 110 miles per--he has just won the Indlanapolis'500, and he has been so shocked he thinks he ls still driving ln lt. Dorothy Dalton arrives in her private plane. She is a comedienne of world fame and has her own hour-long TV show three nights per week. Hardly anyone recognizes her because she has dyed her hair blonde, and all of her freckles are gone now that she never gets out ln the sun anymore. John Struthers is a brilliant jet pilot and is now an instructor at the Alr Academy. Joyce Bomgardner is next to join the party. She gets out of her station wagon, followed by her six children, five dogs, and nine parakeets. Besides caring for all these, Joyce has a job making singing commercials for, a radio broadcasting company. Gary Rice stops ln. He ls a geography teacher at one of the junior high schools in Monument. Jean Wight comes from the horse ranch she owns in Kentucky. She can't stay long because she ls needed to groom a horse to be run ln the Kentucky Derby. Jean has grown quite thin and tall Know 5' 1l l. Iris Amos next runs in from Chicago. She is ln training to break the three-minute mile race. Right behind her comes Charles McGee, who has been assigned to do a picture story of Iris, known as the 'most beautiful mller. Mike McCarty, who is a politician running for President, stops by, campaigning for votes. The Harris twins, Kenneth and Kenton, drop by. They have made a fortune posing for Which One Has the Toni ? adver- tlsements. But neither one has a Tonl, really--they use Qulck. Bill Richardson, who is owner of a dairy, comes in. He does nothing but milk cows all day, he says: but we soon dis- cover hlm at his favorite pastime--arguing with anyone and everyone. Shirley Kendrick, who has a good start in competing with The Woman Who Lived in a Shoe arrives, carrying Kand half dragglngl her youngest--quintuplets. Cheryl Brechlln manages to snatch a little time away from her dance studio where she teaches the mambo and rumbo. Herman Esqulbel takes a little time off from his C. P. A. job. He can't stay long, so he is frantically running around trying to say Hello to everyone before he has to leave. Robert Belveal, who owns the biggest cattle ranch ln Colorado, drives up in hls baby-blue Eldorado Cadillac convertible. Theresa Sharp steps down from a T. W. A. Stratocrulser just in from the Orient. Theresa who looks very chic, and her wealthy husband have just come from a short fnlne monthsl vacation there. Charlotte Ballejos is the prosperous owner of a drug store. Delores Schaefer is a cheerleader at college. She likes leadlng cheers so well that she flunks on purpose--in that way she can keep on leading some more. Ronnie Mahaffle is a famous singer and has his own radio and TV program, called 'Root Beer Time. Millions of teen-age girls are howling for his autograph. A very famous and well-known journalist, by the name of Katie Kratzer, arrives rather late. She claims she was chasing down a story about a space ship that landed on the hills. It seems Katie is still looking for a man, and she thought there would be some men ln the space ship. Mr. Nordstrom, who has retired from teaching, has managed to take time out from playing chess with his old friends to come join us. Ere long we must all part again and go our separate ways. Here's hoping we'll meet again before another ten years roll byl 19
