Miss Thora McCorkle teaches civic s a nd American History. Her civics c la s s is annually in charge ofthe election for student council officers. Gano Tubb is another Ameri- can His to r y teacher. Besides teaching history, he also coaches. He is a true friend of every stu- dent, a nd is known by everyone for his good-naturedness. 1 Doug Samford who is also on the coaching staff, teaches economics, and Texa s History. This is Mr. Samford's first year to be a mem- ber of L.H.S. faculty. W eir Clem, sheriff of Hockley County, points out to students of L.H.S. the principles of the master lock of the city jail. He is known by all the students for his good sense of humor. EmmittBroderson teaches World History and is also one of the coaches for the foot- ball squad. Coach Brinson keeps all of his time well spent with his s c ie nc e classes and coaching. Several members of a sophomore science class a re shown examining an exhibit held by Coach Brinson, Brodie Hutchinson, w ell- known LHS science teacher, is pictured in his lab looking over a set ofplans. Mr. Hutchinson is also a sponsor of the newly formed science club. Clois Roberts watches over one of the many ha ll exhibits of the science classes. Who's Who in science is none other than H. A. Cowan.
