Senior Class Prophecy Well here we are 1n the year 1980 Don and I are celebraung our S1lver Graduauon AHHIVSTSBFQ 1n Denx er 'lhe nueeung place for this mexrmorable occaslon IS our fav or1te haunt the Crossroads known to us as Where the Lantern Hangs Don and I were just COHVQTSIHQ about the wonderful days we spent at Lex ant I-hgh School W e were tallfung about some of the humorous 1l'1C1d6I1tS that happened whlle we matmculated at Levant The smoke and the ha7e whlch 1S tll1Ck enough to cut Wlth a butcher kmfe 1n here rem1nded us of the dear moments we spent 1n the l1ttle wh1te shed close to the school We wonder 1f our four years at the I-hgh School had anythlng to do w1th lt Don 1S now a successful farmer 1n Thomas County and IS pres1dent of the Farm Bureau I m1ght add that he 15 also the proud father of elght ch1ldren Four boys and four g1rls to be exact As for me I am now the successful owner of Charhe s Snooker Parlor 1n Colby My favorlte and most conslstent customers are Davlcl Harper Lloyd St1ckel Gary Harper and Gary Carpenter L1ke Don I haue my own brood of ch1ldren slx g1rls and one boy I plan to catch Don 1n number before the year 15 ox er These meet1ngs are momentous occas1ons for us and we are looklng forward to our next one and we re both hop1ng that we w1ll be around for our Golden Grad uatlon Annwersary ln ZOO5 Charl1e Carpenter I . Class History The saga of our school l1fe at Lexant began 1n the second grade when Charl1e Carpenter and I transferred from Brownv1lle Those already present were Laverne McK1nley Darlene Qu1nn Patty Young Larry Palmgren and Ohve Mxller Our teacher was M1ss Ha1elE'.mah17er Our th1rd grade year brought us 1nto Mxss Dor1s Messamore s class F1V8 br1ght sh1ny faces 1n the new class Those leav1ng us were Charl1e Carpenter and Olxve M1ller The next year wh1ch marked us for the fourth grade at Levant found us w1th s1x puplls Durlng the year we lost Patsy Young and Larry Palmgren but galned three new students 1n Bonnle Walters Sh1rley H111 and Dale Koen1g Mrs Polly Brown was our teacher For the fxfth grade our teacher was Mrs Chr1st1na Weed The same s1x enrolled who were 1n the fourth grade together Another year had passed and we found ourselves 1n M.1ss Dorothy Golemboskl s s1xth grade class Karl Osage and Ir1s Th1el were welcomed as the new students but IH the turn of events we lost Darlene Qu1nn and Bonn1e Walters Seventh grade our f1rst year of Jun1or H1gh School found three of us Ir1s Th1el Laverne McK1nley and I 1n Mrs Venza Pers1nger s class Our elghth grade year found Bonrne Walters and Shlrley H111 back wxth us aga1n along Wlth Charles Engle Th1s made our enrollment for MISS Mane Klaurns a total of s1x pup1ls N1nth grade th1s year found us on the f1nal rungs of the ladder toward our goal 1n Levant school l1fe Three of us Ir1s Laverne and I were st1ll together from our grade school days Th1s marked the enrollment of our class The h1gh school teachers were Supenntendent Franc1s F'raz1er Mr Marv1n Kroecker Mrs Florence Hawkl and Mr Jack Haney September of 52 found an enrollment of one 1n the Sophomore class You guessed Me My old classmate Bonme Walters enrolled later 1n the year Another old classmqte Charl1e Carpenter entered second semester Our faculty conslsted of a new staff They 1ncluded Super1ntendent M S Coll1ngs and Messrs Clarence Bowman W1ll1am Leaverton and Daud Shaw We three aga1n enrolled for our Jumor year at dear old Levant Cora Lelgh Vette was a new face among us but eventually was lost later mn the year Mr Dav1d Shaw left for new reg1ons The new teachers 1ncluded Mr Jean K1rkpatr1ck and Mr V1rg1l Albert1n1 At last the f1nal rung of our ladder Sen1ors Bonrue moved to Garden Clty Charl1e and I were left to carry on The teachers on the staff durlng 54 55 were Superlntendent Coll1ngs Messrs Bowman Albertlm and Herbert Hampton We have completed our course of study at Levant and Charl1e and I are now ready for L1fes course of study Don S1ruta C .
