What a wide range of cars you will see if you take a look in the school parking lot. In size they range from small VW Rabbitts to Lincoln Continentals. Sports cars such as Camaros, Firebirds, Mustangs and Fieros can be seen. You can see the tops-down look of Alpha- Romeos to Dodge Challengers and the year-round look of Jeeps and Broncos. Accessories for the wheeled beauties include expensive Alpines and Pio- neers with graphic EQ’s and power boosters to give incredibly loud and clear sound to the ears of our generation. You can see the personalized touches that decorate rearview mirrors like bandanas, dice, and the soon to come graduation tassels. Children of teachers have definite advantages: our parents act as our personal chauffer service, project supervisors, mediator and loan officers who charges no interest. They also help us by being a built in tutorial service and their rooms are extended lockers. We consider ourselves lucky because we can use their closets and we are never assigned to their classes. Along with the good, however, always comes the bad. We are under constant supervision (can’t “bag’’ class), endure con- stant lectures on behavior, hear complaints from fellow stu- dents about how “mean” mom or dad is, and we are always under constant pressure with the emphasis on grades. Remembering all that has happened to us in the past four years, however, we remember mainly the good and we would like to say that we love our parents and are very grateful for everything they have done for us. 61 In Memory Of Michael Bresnahan reget ere ee bees, { ; + + 7 pe ee + + ae + . From conservative to one of a kind, from the meek and mild to the crazy and wild, and still many more fads to find! This is OURtime. We are going to live it as we please. We are still young and willing to try anything. That’s why a walk through the halls at Leominster High School shows a true variety of people. From wildlly spiked hair and half-Mohawk styles to tails, braids, half-long, half-short looks, bobs, layers, and two-toned tops right down to those who say older cuts still live on. And what do we wear to accompany those cuts? “Any- thing goes!’’ says one high school senior. The latest looks for girls range from bold prints to soft pastels, stirrup pants and oversized tops, print jeans and the “Madonna look”. For guys - black or grey jeans seem to be in for them. And there are those few daring ones who aren’t afraid to wear stripes and plaids - together! And those bleach-spotted jeans! They’re in too! Accessories to match? Anything lacy; the jewelry big and bright; even the guys are wearing earrings these days. On the feet we’ve seen everything from pumps to flats, loafers, army boots, and the ever-famous converse highcuts! Yet while some go for these trendy new fashions - others feel more comfortable ‘‘plain-and-simple.”” And so we continue, our walk through life - developing our own sense of style, and loving every minute of it! 103 emma ssosneiiacesnmpineitaiilacunca tiara ttt FRESFME Freshman Class Officers Class Advisors Cheryl Crowley Patricia Wallace 105 106 107 MANS F COLO S NE ASR aD Pe . . . . . Leominster had one of the toughest schedules around, fac- ing four Boston area teams (B.C. High, Newton North, Brockton, and Catholic Memorial). Facing these stronger teams only made us play better against our Central Mass. opponents. Although only winning four games, they were big wins. The team did not make the playoffs this year, but you should look for them to improve within the next two years. Leominster had one of the youngest teams in Central Massachusetts. Most of the players were sophomores and freshmen which leaves room for improvement as they get more experience. Junior Kevin Gaudet and Senior Brian Gonthier led the scoring attack with 20 and 10 goals respectively. Greg Pelletier chipped in with 10 goals this season. They were led by Joe Guilmette, Greg Lowe, Charlie Thebeau and Chris Morlock. Most of the team’s winners were in the heavier weight classes. Charlie The- beau, Rocco Perla, and Rob Bissonnette competed in the heavier categories. The lighter wrestlers included Uni Manivong and Jon Ciccolini who had good matches and battled hard but did not get the decisions. L.H.S. takes pride in the fact that Joe Guilmette, wrestling at around 140 pounds, went to the state finals in his weight class, and that Greg Lowe was named as an alternate. Coach Jeff Roberts deserves a lot of credit for getting the team prepared for each match. Good luck next year! The answer is three very special people. They are the foreign exchange students for the 1985- 86 school year. Elizabeth Escudero is visiting us from Mexico. While in Leominster she is staying with Mr. and Mrs. Siel. She came to the United States primarily to sharpen her English skills. She received the opportunity to do this through the Rotary Club. Elizabeth likes the high school although it’s much larger than her school at home. Living here is not a shock to her as she has visited the United States in the past. When she returns to Mexico she will attend college for busi- ness administration. Linda Rydquist is from Sweden and while in the United States, she is living with Mr. and Mrs. Morey of Leominster. She has mastered her English quite well and finds it easy to adapt to life at L. H. S$. While she is here, she has decided to keep busy. She was a member of the swim team and seemed to like it. Upon her return to Sweden, she will attend the gym- nasium, which is our equivalent to the first few years of college, for two more years. Our third exchange student, Lars Peter Dam comes to us from Denmark. His host family is Mr. and Mrs. Murphy of Leominster. Peter arrived here through the Student Exchange program in Denmark. He likes it here and seems to be enjoying the experience. Upon his arrival in the United States he was fascinat- ed by our television commercials (Denmark has one television channel). When he returns to Denmark, he plans to attend the gymnasium and college with hopes of becoming an astronomer. The one thing all three of the exchange students remarked upon was the amount of junk food in the American diet. They were all taught English as a second language, though television helped a lot in their fluency of it. One of the major differences they noticed was the small amount of freedom American students were given and the strict rules that were enforced at L. H. S. All three of them are trying to keep active as a way of warding off homesickness. All in all it has been a rewarding experience for everyone as they learned about another culture and we made some new friends. ——— Seat cee I A PO Oe OO ae CONGRATULATIONS CLASS OF ’86” FROM CLASS OF 86 “At your - service first Service Bank(D 15 Monument Square Leominster, Ma. 01453 Member FDIC © 534-4943 or 342-8741 24-HOUR CARDIOLOGY INTERNISTS OF LEOM., INC.
