To the Class of 1981: It would be conventional if | were to wish you success upon your graduation. However, | would like to wish you something that is more difficult to come by — meaning in your life; and meaning is not something you stumble across, like the an- swer to a riddle. Meaning is something you build into your life — out of your past, your affections and loyalties, your own talent and understand- ings, the things you believe in, the things and people you love, the values for which you are willing to sacrifice something. The ingredients are there for each of you. You are the only one who can put them toget her into that unique pattern that will be your life. Let it be a life that has dignity and meaning for you. If it does, then the particu- lar balance of success or failure is of less account. 20 Administration The Class of 1981 has left its mark on LHS. In the class- rooms, through the teams, and through the many stu- dent organizations, the students who now are leaving LHS as graduates have brought credit to themselves and their class. Your leadership and energetic support for school activities has helped to revitalize student interest and involvement in those activities.
