Whoever said that good things come in small packages must have had Ms. Lavin in mind. She is well-known to most Leominster High School students as a dynamic teacher and as a warm and caring woman. A staunch believer in the idea that students are people, she shows her interest and concern by her involvement in all phases of LHS student life. Whether it be selling tickets to the Christmas dance (“Hi, guys — Ms. Lavin here!”’), acting in a rally skit as the Head Coach of the LHS faculty cheerleaders, or cheering for LHS at vari- ous sporting events, “Lady Lav” is an enthusiastic participant in LHS affairs. Known for her particular craving for Egg McMuffins, she has often been the recipient of mysterious presents wrapped in Mc- Donald’s bags (Psst! Anybody making a ‘Mac’ run?!!). But Ms. Lavin is much more than a member of the Leominster High faculty. She is a personal friend to many members of the Class of 1978. Always there to offer advice spiced with her own special brand of humor, she really listens and cares. Whenever you have a prob- lem, it’s nice to know that there’s someone you can talk to who will try to understand your feelings without criticizing or making value judgments. The Class of 1978 owes you a debt we cannot possibly repay — your love and guidance have been an immeasurably special part of our three years here. We love you, Lady Lav!
