In the year 1975 the Leominster High School Blue Devils combined a potent offense with mighty defense to gather an 8-2 record. The Blue and White won the ‘75’ Inaugural over St. Johns, (19-8) and proceeded to defeat Nashua (14- 6), Marlboro, (34-13), Manchester Central (3-0), and St. Peter’s, (35-7) before suffering a depressing (12-7) loss to Manchester Memorial and a (34-14) loss to a still powerful Brockton High School. The Blue Devils bounced back in the final three contests of the campaign by beating Gardner (28-10), Lowell (26-17), and Arch Rival Fitchburg on a cold, rainy Thanksgiving Day (19-0). Two way contributers were co-captains Steve Ringer and Charlie Kirouac. Steve turned in an outstanding season at Fullback and Linebacker, while two way tackle Charlie Kirouac was outstanding in so many ways. Other offensive contributers were (End) Francis Thomas, (Center) Mark Falk, (Guard) Wayne Hapgood, and (Tackle) Bob Yule. Defensive linemen who will be lost through graduation are Co-Captain (Middle Guard) Mike Pignata, (End) John Crowley, and (Tackle) Ted Fiffy. The defensive backs who won't return for another season at good old LHS are Rick Daigneault, Kevin Buckley and Steve D’Onfro. Henry David was a very idealistic young man who was willing to pay the consequences for his beliefs. He was continually badgered throughout the play by Ralph Waldo Emerson to lower his values so that he might live more easily within the community. Thoreau was probably the only one to refuse to pay taxes to support the Mexican invasion for which he spent a night in jail. The play was well acted and directed and the idea of projected scenery and music as background was a refreshing idea. Whenever we, the class as a whole, or any person needed advice or aid, an attentive ear or helping hand could be found with him. Throughout our years at L.T.H.S., Mr. Hemenway has become more than just a teacher and class advisor — he has become a trusted friend. With fondest memories of the times we have all shared, we the Bicentennial class of 1976 at L.T.H.S., dedicate this year- book to Mr. Robert Hemenway for everything he has done for us. i fr ee Viti. iy Directors: Message CONGRATULATIONS: THE CLASS OF ‘76 WILL PERHAPS REMEMBER THEIR GRADUATION MORE VIVIDLY IN THE YEARS TO COME THAN MANY OTHER GRADUATING CLASSES. Archibald, Director Leominster Trade High School Mr. Harold Mooney Mr. Wllliam Merce Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm. (Emerson) Every class that graduates must meet a challenge greater than that of the class that precedes it. The Class of 1976 must be made of sterner stuff, be willing to walk the extra mile, in order to succeed in this fast changing world we live in. The teachers and other staff feel sure that the Class of 1976 can rise to the challenge of today’s world and will become our best advertisement of the programs at the Leominster Trade High School. The secret of success is constancy to purpose. (Disreali) BAR ARERR NRE Mrs. Irene Lrotettt My, Sohn TSFiata What is w Friend? What is a friend? Quite a number of things.
