Class Advisors Miss Mary Addante The class of 1961 is very grateful to its advisors, Miss Mary Addante and Mr. Conrad Geller, for their assistance and understanding during the past three years. The members of the Magnet staff would like to extend every best wish to the graduating class of 1961. It is our hope that this book will help to recall the many pleasant memories you experienced dur- ing your three years at Leominster High School. 13 Mr. Conrad Geller

Principal... Theodore M. Kucharski Principal What shall we say in farewell to young people as we graduate them into the Space Age? Shall we urge you to bend every effort to be the first astronaut to set foot on the moon? Shall we try to inspire you to use your talents in inventing, perfecting, implementing interplanetary rockets and missiles and other such fireworks of outer space? Well, do these things if you want to and have the talent for it. We’ll be proud of any pioneers among you who sail into orbit in the next twenty years. But may we also say that we shall be equally proud to hear in the years to come of those of you who remain with your feet firmly planted on the soil of Earth, for this old planet, on which you have been nourished and educated, on which you have re- spected your parents and worshiped your God and found friends to enjoy life with— this old planet still has plenty of respectable chores for you to do right here at home. While the adventurous cope with the universe, it will be good to have some of you learning to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, shelter the shelterless, teach the igno- rant, and raise children of your own so filled with the spirit of loving and serving God and their fellow men that this planet will become so peaceful and lovely a place that no one will want to leave it for the brightest star in the cosmos.
