girls, too, made a good showing in sports by complet- ing the first undefeated season in field hockey. At this time all the seniors participated in the an- nual spaghetti supper. Our profit was greater than that of any class in previous years. With high spirits our football team brought glory to L.H.S. in the last and most important game of the season. A definite underdog, the team managed to hold a 0-0 deadlock with Fitchburg. This was certainly a moral victory for Leominster after having spent many hours practicing and scrimmaging. The annual Thanksgiving Dance at City Hall ended this victori- ous day. On December 15, the L.H.S. basketball team offi- cially opened their season playing against Lunenburg with hopes for another successful season. The team showed their fighting spirit all during the season. Los- ing a few games only made them work harder to cor- rect their mistakes. Our thoughts then turned to our long awaited Christmas vacation. In the midst of this festive holi- day, the G.A.A. sponsored the annual “Holiday Caba- ret.” This dance -was the highlight of our winter vaca- tion. The month of February brings to mind the Winter Carnival with its election of a king and queen. In 1960 the honors went to Caroline Cross and Robert Tellier, along with the members of their court, Bar- bara Davis, Ronald Lamothe, Karen DeCarolis, Ray- mond Bunnell, Sharon Morey, Kenneth Baldwin, Edith Poultney, and David Brown. The king and queen led the grand march, one of the highlights of the evening. After completing mid-year exams, the actors and actresses turned to the Senior Play. This play was a smashing hit. The most beautiful event of the year is the Junior- Senior Prom. All the couples were dressed in fluffy gowns and dress suits. We realized that this was our last high school prom and we made it a most enjoya- ble one. Our last year was drawing to a close with our Senior Reception. This was a sentimental event for many, because we hated to leave our beloved school, teach- ers, and most of all our friends. With our lovely flower girls leading the procession, we, the class of ’60, marched to our graduation. In front of all our friends and relatives, we received our diplomas. This marked the end of our three wonderful years at L.H.S. that will remain forever in our memory.
